Sun City, AZ

Sun City

Located north of Phoenix, Sun City is a town and master-planned community in the Phoenix metro area that offers 55+ living. Started with the idea of providing the opportunity for leisure and recreation to the active retired adult, Sun City first began in 1960 and has continued to grow every year since. The community was originally predicted to fail, but as more and more adults realized the value in a community specifically for retired adults, the idea caught on and spread throughout the entire United States.

A self-contained community, Sun City offers a variety of services: from shopping and dining to long-term care, everything a person in their golden years could need or want is provided for in this popular community. Now into its third generation of residents, Sun City continues to provide the means for an active adult to enjoy life in all facets. The community offers services, as well as a vast number of activities and events, and the healthcare amenities in Sun City are some of the best in the entire country. With its continued popularity, Sun City is poised for even more growth as the Baby Boomer generation reaches retirement age.
